Kidney cancer vaccines:

Sometimes kidney cancer is called by
its medical name, renal cell carcinoma.
Kidney cancer includes various forms,
including clear cell, papillary,
sarcomatoid, transitional cell, and
others.
Renal cell carcinoma is a type of
kidney cancer in which the cancerous
cells are found in the lining of very
small tubes (tubules) in the kidney.



ONCOPHAGE APPROVED FOR
KIDNEY CANCER IN RUSSIA
The cancer vaccine  Oncophage,
made by New York-based company
Antigenics, has been approved in
Russia for treating kidney cancer.
Trials showed it to increase survival by
a year in some patients, although for
FDA approval in the U.S. new trials are
required.
